Vision
& Mission
Caring Place,
Inc. (CP), is a Consumer Run Organization
that reaches out to people with
severe and persistent mental illness
through recreational and educational
activities that will help all concerned
to become interactive and resourceful.
We will attain the goal through group interdependence and training.
We emphasize leadership skills. We
also hope to incorporate research
whenever possible so that we can see
where we have come from and where
we are going.
Primary
Programs and Activities
There was a
big Halloween party with many decorations. Member also attended a Thanksgiving and Christmas
dinner. The National Alliance for
the Mentally Ill (NAMI) hosted
a meal at a local church on St. Patrick's
Day for CP members, and 45 members attended.
There was a trip to Topeka with CP
members to see the Capitol, as well as a trip to the Sedgwick County
Zoo, Eisenhower Museum, and the KS State Fair. Women's night
is getting better all the time, as
we spend more time in the community.
We have brought in a volunteer to
teach typing one night a week. Our
plans are to expand that program.
The Endowment established by the family of Peggy
Deitz, earns about $900.00
a year for CP interest, and we applied
for a matching grant from Wal-Mart.
